[Cloudy, hill to Rattery then Diptford to Bickham Bridge where 6 people agreed to buy a £30 Toblerone Bar from Michael's cash and carry store at Paignton. North Huish, Avonwick, Oliver's pedal fell off, then Oliver got lost and made his own way home - 1.15. Mother's Day, all made tracks for home.]

[Keir crashed into concrete bollard near Chudleigh Knighton, his father collected him and took him to Torbay for stitches - home at 4.30. Rest continued through Gappah to Haldon. In view of strong headwind and delays decided to shorten route. Had lunch on track near Haldon Belvedere (Lawrence Castle). Tao and Neil rode bikes backwards while return route was selected. Steps Bridge, Moretonhampstead, straight to Primrose Café at Lustleigh then quite bright for return route via Bovey Tracey. Quite a bit of bike and shoe swapping.]

[Sunny periods. Bickington, Manaton, Hayne Down lunch - kids bought all Michael's chocolate. Explored Bowerman's Nose. Jay's Grave, Widecombe. Budgie told off for playing on swing. Shop. Returned via Ponsworthy (balloons), Leusdon (only one duck), Spitchwick when full sunshine and glorious afternoon. Hembury Woods, home by 4pm.]

[Colston Road, Staverton via Riverside Path, Broadhempston play park. MJ sold chocolate. Knowle Cross, Landscove track, Green Lane. Fast-paced ride because Michael was in the car. Weather cold but dry.]

[MJ in car again. Shortest route to Rising Sun through Ashburton. Stayed 1 hour 25 minutes, ate food outside although a bit chilly. Youngsters played volleyball. Returned via Parkfield Cross and Pridhamsleigh track. Llewelyn missed due to MJ error.]

[Hembury Woods, riverside path to River Dart Country Park. Played on slides - Tao and Philip Stone found steep slide very bumpy. Holne Chase, home via Hembury. Thick mist but dry.]

[Misty start, rain forecast for mid-morning, rode to Totnes via Colston. Rain began to went into café, got heavier so returned via Littlehempston. Afternoon at Crofters.]

[Pennywell. Turning for 'Week' past youth hostel. Totnes track. Full flood; Keir, Neil and Tao rode through water above hubs, rest found an alternative path. Home via Colston. Philip Stone showed off his twin-beamed lights.]

[Showers forecast during morning, but in fact sunny and warm. David crashed into Craig near Heathfield when Llewellyn stopped for Luke's dropped food but no damage. Lane route to Primrose café, Lustleigh where sat in garden. B-road to Moretonhampstead, MJ two wrong turns. Cranbrook Castle for lunch at 1.45. Decided on quick route to Chagford where bought refreshments from food store. Rain began at 3pm and continued until 4.55 on and off. Returned by 5.10 - excellent ride.]

[Beautiful sunny evening. Tom and Greg were persuaded to join the ride at the start. Dean Prior, Nurston, Shipley, Avon Dam, Abbots' Way. Philip's rear quick release skewer broke so walked to Cross Furzes, Michael came up by car to collect him.]

[Lovely golden sunset over moor and delightful full moon. Ashburton, Halshanger, Cold East Cross. Getting quite cold. Track to Buckland, someone asked why there were letters around the edge of the church clock instead of numbers. Descent to Spitchwick where Chris puncture - Tao threw pump and lost connector. David puncture with nail, at the top of Holne Chase; John's replacement tube turned out to be punctured and Julian's repair seemed to fail so plans to play on Playstation were abandoned. Julian walked David homewards; Michael came back to collect with car.]

[Sunny but not especially warm. John H and Philip O had new bikes. Repeat of a recent Friday ride. Ruth found hills tough so Jenny took them all home from Nurston. Lots of people at Shipley. John Hayes fell off on descent from Cross Furzes but relatively unharmed.]

[Green Lane, Abham, Staverton. Shower but Michael didn't turn back. Broadhempston play park. Track to H B Coombe pheasant farm - Julian scared of herd of cows, Eliot went too fast and came off on a tree trunk in semi-darkness. Home by 9.30. Good ride.]

[Pleasant sitting at Gappah. Had been some doubt as to whether we would attend the event due to last minute planning from Graham. Event didn't start until 2.25 by which time everyone was cold. And 5 marshals meant only 5 observed sections, but event went very well albeit quickly and the trophy went to Tao, the first time it has ever gone to our Section. This vindicates the change of rules which we've been pushing for. Returned with Torbay to Kingsteignton, then home via Bradley Woods and Rising Sun. Buckfastleigh by 6.30.]
