Ride Reports
Holbeton via Mothecombe Beach
Taking the fast B3210 to Ermington gave us time to explore the little-used lanes around Holbeton, then enjoy a sunny lunch on Mothecombe beach watching windsurfers. A welcome stop at California Cross broke the return via South Brent.
Haytor and Buckland Common loop
A steady climb past Haytor became a moorland ramble, briefly checked by a sharp shower, then rewarded with views across Buckland Common and the sight of young foals. New member Brian punctured near Ashburton, rescued when John dashed home and returned with car and roofrack.
Fernworthy with Torbay CTC
An outing defined by impromptu adventure: after we emptied Lustleigh’s Primrose café of chocolate cake and prised teacher Will Carnell from his breakfast, we climbed via Sanduck and Batworthy and lunched in a strong breeze. New ground by the West Webburn brought streams and stiles that left several of us wet and muddy.
Evening lanes to Woodland
An unhurried exploration of lanes and tracks between Pridhamsleigh and Levaton became a reminder of how little we know our own maze of byways. We stopped often, but the dry, mild evening made every pause pleasant and turned finding the way into part of the pleasure.

Blackingstone Rock
Our ride to Blackingstone Rock for the DA meet-up involved passing perilously close to Lustleigh, the location of our favourite café. Several of the younger boys, who were ahead o...
