Scotland 1996 11

A stolen bag in Arisaig set the tone. From that moment Scotland 1996 became a tour of quick thinking and unlikely allies. CalMac let us sail without the missing tickets; a roadside engineer welded a wrecked derailleur back to life; and at Carbisdale Castle a ghost story gave way to a midnight dash to Inverness A&E, ending with our leader locked out, pacing a midge-swarmed porch till dawn.
