Ride Reports
Totnes
After heavy overnight rain, a blustery dry morning took us to the Cider Press Centre and along the riverside path, with dramatic views of the swollen Dart and its weir turned to a torrent. Kane tired on the Rattery climb yet pressed on through flooded lanes to finish in time for the afternoon social.
Crofters social
Bad weather saw the morning ride replaced by a Crofters social, inevitably spent indoors with some PC games. A small, low‑key meet that made the best of a wet day.
Crofters social
Another relaxed Crofters social: PC network games kept everyone smiling throughout. A simple, shared session that delivered exactly what was needed.
Marley Head
A sunlit climb via Dean Hill and Marley Head took us from the railway viaduct up to Rattery for midday photos. We finished with the long downhill back to Buckfastleigh.
Crofters social
Another relaxed evening on the club’s PC network; computer games kept everyone very happy.
Holne
Following our familiar route to Holne and down through the woods to River Dart Country Park, the ride was marked by a pause at Whitey Cross to fuss a friendly horse in a smart winter coat, and a final flurry of photos at the park entrance before heading home.
Crofters social
With the first snowfall of the season, some members drove up to Venford to play in the snow, then rounded off the evening with computer games. A light‑hearted detour from riding that made winter feel welcome.
Broadhempston
A relaxed ride to Broadhempston centred on an unhurried stop at the village play park, where the group lingered for simple fun. The photos capture the mood: time on the swings and climbing frames made the morning.
Crofters social
A relaxed club night focused on real-time strategy battles over the PC network, with the club shop's usual snacks fuelling the skirmishes. A simple evening of head-to-head matches and friendly rivalry.
Skerraton Down
In glorious sunshine we climbed onto Skerraton Down, threading through gorse to the top for sweeping views across South Devon and the sea. A fast run over the moor led to the downhill track to Cross Furzes and the long, satisfying drop to Buckfastleigh.
Crofters social
A low-key Crofters social centred on real-time strategy skirmishes over the PC network, sustained by the club shop's snacks—a relaxed evening of screens rather than miles.
Hembury Woods
A crisp circuit of Hembury Woods became all about the light: sun and faint mist pouring through the trees and bouncing off the River Dart, drawing us to linger for photos along the riverside path, while a small ford claimed Osian’s foot for a brief, chilly dab.
