Scottish Highlands 2000 11
Snowball fights near the summit of Ben Nevis in August set the tone for a tour of grit and surprise. The same resolve took us over the Bealach na Bà, shivering through hairpins to reach hot food before last orders. En route we lucked into a guided look inside the Kerry Falls hydro station and even squeezed bikes onto the Mother Goose across Loch Broom, small marvels to match the scale of the landscape.
