[Weather: excellent. Left Buckfastleigh late at 2.20. Marley Head, Moreleigh. Keir puncture - no puncture kit, pump or spare tube! Wren flew into Michael's front wheel. Met Peter Hawkins who took us on a detour to Woodleigh (one of his favourite muddy tracks), not too popular because of the mud. Straight on to Malborough garage, everyone except Eliot bought Danish Pastries, then after a while Eliot had to get one too. Hostel by 6.40. Several youngsters scoffed meal down very quickly - against Michael's advice. Eliot had brought two oven-cook ready meals but there were no ovens at Salcombe (in the Members' Kitchen) so he boiled them in the saucepan. Waited for Neil until 9ish, checked home at 9pm but no message from Neil, so went for our walk without him. Looked for smugglers but couldn't find any tonight.]
