[New Year's Eve. Misty, damp start. Road from Bickington Flyover to Cold East Cross - rose above the clouds into the sunshine at the cattle grid. Descended into mist again near Ponsworthy but clear at Dartmeet. Found the cave, ate lunch there. Tom had trainers removed. Budgie decided to join us after all for the return route via Hexworthy and Scoriton. Heavy drizzle and thick fog from Combestone Tor to Buckfastleigh.]

[Weather: sunny. Hembury lower track. Holne. Played in park for 10 minutes. (Presumably up to cattle grid.) Track descent to Michelcombe. Llewellyn got wet feet. Home via Hawson Court.]

[Forecast for mainly dry weather, but started raining 9.30 and continued on and off all day. Majority decision to shorten the ride. Returned via South Brent, Didworthy (plenty of water around), Shipley Bridge and Dean Prior. Lunch and afternoon at Crofters.]

[Cold east wind, overcast. Chuley Cross. Lanes to West Ogwell. Several feeling cold so returned via Channings Wood, Denbury, Knowle, track (muddy in places but quite rideable), Green Lane. Afternoon social at Crofters. Eliot was not amused when Tao put water down his neck.]

[Michael at start before 10.00 (unusually). John Stuart came and went. Budgie got puncture as soon as we left the RAC box at Caton so half an hour late at the Bovey Tracey pick-up. Met Kevin Presland at the top of Hind Street (where he lives). Climbed hospital hill. Budgie went home with faulty derailleur. Lots of snow by road at top. Tao got Michael with a snowball but Michael and Philip got Tao back very well. Thick mist at Blackingstone. Had lunch in shelter of wind. Icicles on Rock. Very cold so left quickly after climbing steps to top of Rock. Descent to Wrey valley - lots of ice on final twisty narrow part of the descent. Sped down valley to Lustleigh, found Primrose café closed until 3rd February! So along railway track to Brookside Tearooms at Bovey Tracey. Fast return to Buckfastleigh, arriving 4.20. Excellent ride.]
